[backpost] Invitation and bomboniere for my sister and brother-in-law’s Fire Ceremony in January. Materials were already picked out for the invite — I just did the copy. Details have been edited for privacy.
Had a lot of issues with the bomboniere — material shortage, time, delivery. A lot of complaining and cancelling orders from suppliers. It turned out alright in the end, although it almost killed me. Stickers made with help from my Xyron 900 from H.
I still can’t believe G stuck it out and helped me through the wee hours — how awesome of him(!). I still remember how painful it was. Never again.
Excuse the incredibly bad quality images; I think you get the picture anyway. Get it, PICTURE? I’ll shut up now.

Note(s) to Self:

  • Please take the time — when you have time — to illustrate your ‘quotes’.
  • Look through your old journals — there are probably some gems in there.
  • Learn to use your sewing machine

180512 3x3 font test. Not completely happy with the characters E, 3, M — even less discernible in this context… I guess that’s what happens when you don’t want to cop out and use both lowercase and uppercase letters, and want to stick so strictly to the 3x3 grid.
“Oh, hello! It is very nice to meet you. My name is Rubix 13.”

180512 Pattern Test #1 for Rubix Thirteen.

170512 Font for portfolio. Take #1.
Looking at extending my identity as “Rubix Thirteen”, which shares the same initials as my name. 3x3 grid font with spacings, like on a Rubick’s cube. Plays on geometry, perspective and optical illusions ensue.
//Could use a cube pattern - refer to textiles/japonisme//

16-70512 Logo Concepts part 2 for After Thirteen (short name: A13). Drafting the feasibility of a pyramid-based logo.
Still taking on the triangle/joined concept of the previous logo design; this one looks at the concept of community/unity, with each of the four band members represented by one equal side of a triangular pyramid — each a valuable asset on their own, but together creating something bigger and better.
Further exploration will look into colour, and the possibility of a variation of the logo for each of the members.
//Could each side’s lines be coloured differently? Or could solid colours vs lines be a better depiction?//

[120307] Parenthetical statement #1.
It’s gloomy today, and I’ve lots of work to do. Sorry for being so busy and not posting much. I hope this quick little ditty helps tide you over. I want to do some hand drawn type for this and Stockholm eventually.

A thought I came up with; hoping to further develop this one.
